Fill the vase two-thirds with fresh, lukewarm water and add your flower food. Instead of changing the water completely, top it up the day after having your flowers. The flower food effect will last longer this way.
Remove any foliage and dull leaves that will sit below the waterline to avoid build-up of debris. If you have roses in your bouquet, you may notice some pale outer petals. These are guard petals, which protect the inner ones. Gently remove 2-3 guard petals to reveal fresh and beautiful inner petals.
Trim about 2-3cm from the bottom of the stems at a 45-degree angle. Do not use scissors to trim the stems! Get a pruner or a sharp knife for trimming your flowers.
Change the water regularly every two-three days. Just like us, flowers love clean water.
